Ten Incarnation of Vishnu in Hindu Philosophy

  1. First incarnation of Vishnu is Matsya or the Fish incarnation appeared in the Satya Yuga.
  2. Second incarnation of Vishnu is Kurma or the Turtle incarnation appeared in the Satya Yuga.
  3. Third incarnation of Vishnu is Varaha or the Boar incarnation of Vishnu appeared in the Satya Yuga.
  4. Fourth incarnation of Vishnu is Narasingha or the half-man/half-lion incarnation appeared in the Satya Yuga.
  5. Fifth incarnation of Vishnu is Vamana or the Dwarf incarnation appeared in the Treta Yuga.
  6. Sixth incarnation of Vishnu is Parasurama, Rama with the axe, appeared in the Treta Yuga.
  7. Seventh incarnation of Vishnu is Ram also known as Ramachandra, Raghava etc., the prince and king of Ayodhya, appeared in the Treta Yuga.
  8. Eigth incarnation of Vishnu is Krishna appeared in the Dwapara Yuga along with his brother Balarama.
  9. Ninth incarnation of Vishnu is Buddha appeared in the Kali Yuga.
  10. Tenth Incarnation of Vishnu is Kalki, still to appear at the end of the Kaliyuga or the present age of decline.
