New Delhi: On the occasion of 5151 years of Bhagwad Gita this year, GIEO Gita (Global Inspiration & Enlightenment Organization of Bhagwat Gita) is organizing a week of celebrations across India and Abroad from Dec 02- Dec 07.
H. H. Gita Manishi Mahamandaleshwar, Swami Shri Gyananandji Maharaj founded GIEO Gita in 2012 at an International level with the objective of spreading the message and explaining the viability and indispensability of Shrimad Bhagwat Gita in life today. This week’s celebration highlights the underlying message that despite being written 5151 years ago, Shrimad Bhagwat Gita holds immense relevance in all of today’s atmosphere and adversities. This event is organized with the motives that may Shrimad Bhagwat Gita become the inspiration of mankind across the globe; may there be an awakened outlook of fulfilling responsibilities; may all sorrow, misery, grief, depressing, fear cease from the very root and may mankind attain supreme bliss.
Shrimad Bhagwad Gita Week will start with a Bhoomi Pujan on 2nd December at Red Fort Grounds in Delhi where a large crowd of over 51000 people from all over the world is expected to gather on the 7th Dec. The ground-breaking ceremony will be held at the same venue on the 2nd Dec morning with Shri Mohan Bhagwat, the RSS Chief doing the honors.
Celebrations will begin in several cities by involving and inviting several other like-minded people and organizations to join us in our endeavours for the week. At every venue 5151 Diyas will be lit up, the first one by a girl child to show the GIEO Gita respect to the women folk. Then folks from other like-minded organizations will be invited to light diyas to commemorate the occasion of Gita Jayanti.
The final day, that is 7th December, 2014, has speakers from people across different walks of life which include world leaders, politicians, spiritual gurus, and other important dignitaries such as, External Affairs Minister Smt Sushma Swaraj, Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar, Science and Technology Minister Dr Harshvardhan, Spiritual leaders Jagat Guru Shankaracharyaji, Swami Gurusharananandji of Vrindavan, Swami Ramdevji, Shri Ramesh Bhai Ojhaji, Justice RC Lahoti, Justice Girdhar Malviya to name a few. They will all share the Dias with Swami Gyananand, Mahamandaleshwar.
The grand celebration on 7th December at Red Fort Grounds from 10am to 2pm will include the largest ever exhibition on the Bhagwad Gita and its message featuring its hand written and several unpublished versions, various commentaries and research documents on the scripture by Mahatma Gandhi, Gopal Krishna Gokhle, Bal Gangadhar Tilak amongst others. From 2nd to 6th December, there will be Prabhat Pheries and Shobha Yatra in several parts of the country, Gita Pujan by 5151 families, pledging by 5151 young people to spread the message of Shrimad Bhagwad Gita across. They will take pledge to start a mass movement against drug addiction, respect for elderly, and clean India. Apart from the speeches of the dignitaries, there will be recitation of Shlokas from Shri Bhagwad Gita and Puja by 5151 Yajman families. Red Fort ground that will accommodate over 51000 people during the day, will be cleared and cleaned by the same evening.
Each day of the week has been dedicated to several different avenues to spread the message of Shrimad Bhagwat Gita in several ways. On 3rd December, which is the day of differently-abled people, multiple cities will have participation by them. We will go to several centers to jointly do a Gita Paath with the handicapped. Additionally, financial support, cleanliness movement and other support would be extended to them. A copy of the Gitaji has been translated into Braille by GIEO GIta which will be distributed at Blind Schools and other centers to spread the invaluable message of Shrimad Bhagwad Gita to the blind as well.
On the 4th December, the theme is Bhagwad Gita and Nature. Tree plantation will take place in Agra, Ferozabad, Jhansi, Panipat, Saharanpur, Meerut, Muzzaffar Nagar besides other cities. 5151 saplings will be planted in each city. 5th December will be dedicated to cows. Several people in various cities will undertake multiple initiatives of Gau-Seva and collective Gau-Pujan. 6th December will be dedicated to leading Children. Many children will recite Gitaji and understand the importance of cleanliness, health, awareness, respecting elders and having the right values and morals while working and studying with confidence and concentration in life. This week’s celebrations will be concluded by the grand celebration at the Red Fort Grounds on 7th December as described above.
It is said that Lord Krishna bestowed a divine gift to the world in the form of Bhagwad Gita through Arjuna. It is considered the most precious book the world over. The great Gita scholar Mahamandelswar Swami Sri Gyananand Ji Maharaj has made the Gita his base of knowledge and is inspiring the people world over through his preachings to live a meaningful life.
The objective of Gita Prerna mahotsav is to introduce the youth with the teachings of Gita and eradicate the differences and prejudices based on caste and creed, language and thinking. Special efforts of GIEO Gita through this event will be to ensure that the young generation has a morally sound character so that they act responsibly towards the nation, their society and family. The Youth must be alive to the surroundings and in a position to put its energy to the best use.
